2009 Heroes Recognition A Huge Success!

March 5, 2009 - The Covington Center

The local YMCA established the Heroes recognition program to publicly recognize
 West St. Tammany people who have benefitted the community in exceptional
 ways through excellence  in their employment or volunteer work.  YMCA Heroes
 are  nominated by area citizens in the YMCA service area.
 
The YMCA honored 12 Heroes this year.  A HERO is generally considered
 to be an unselfish, respected and courageous achiever.  A YMCA Hero is
 one whose achievements also embody the mission of the YMCA
to “build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.”

The YMCA’s mission is underscored by the core values of
